The Best places to go Pumpkin Picking near Hull 2023

There are so many reasons why we love a bit of pumpkin picking – it’s always a great day out. With this list, you’ll be spoilt for the choice of where to go this spooky season. I’ve had to put the list into alphabetical order because I just couldn’t choose which should go first!

Note: all details are correct at the time of posting and I will be on the lookout for changes and update accordingly. But always check ahead before your visit in case of changes.

The Balloon Tree Farm Shop and Cafe Pumpkin Picking Event

Pumpkins are finally ready at The Balloon Tree with wheelbarrows waiting to carry both your pumpkins and children! With an entry fee of £1.50 per person (non-walkers are free) this may not be the cheapest option, though pumpkins are charged by weight which may be a better option for some.

Butt Farm Pumpkin Patch

Butt Farm is a beautiful caravan, glamping, and camping site with cattle, sheep, chickens, and Pygmy goats.

For pumpkin picking season they offer free parking, there are toilets on site, as well as refreshments and face painting.

Free to enter and no pre-booking is required. Butt Farm has not revealed their 2023 dates or activities yet – I will update you when they do.

Humble Bee Farm Pumpkin Picking Event

A beautiful spot for some glamping in the idyllic Yorkshire Wolds.

With a pumpkin patch and two Halloween trails, Humble Bee Farm is set to go this spooky season! With timed slots, visitors can amble around the pumpkin patch before picking their perfect pumpkin and taking it into the pumpkin barn ready to transform your pumpkin into a scary work of art. Follow the trails, have a snack in the Hive, then visit the farmyard gang to top off your Halloween adventure!

Only £10 per child (inclusive of a pumpkin) and £6 per adult, with under 2’s entering for free. Slots are available throughout the day on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout October.

Piglets Adventure Farm Pumpkin Festival

With a pumpkin included for every paying child, a maze and quest, magic show, bat walk fashion parade, and the usual piglets adventure park fun, there is sure to be something for everyone!

This event is running 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd, and daily 28th-31st October. Tickets range from £12.95-£16.95 for children, £10.95-£13.95 for adults, £9.95-£12.95 for concessions and free entry for children under 1 (this will not include a pumpkin)

The Pumpkin Patch Produce

The Pumpkin Patch Produce offer twice the bang for your buck with the pumpkin field and the farm a short walk up the road.

The farm offers fantastic photo opportunities with its magnificent pumpkin displays, while the field offers a wide variety of pumpkins ready for picking. There are Pygmy goats, a pumpkin house, pumpkin games, and face painting alongside hot food and drinks. There are even pick-your-own sunflowers on offer while they last!

The Pumpkin Patch Produce is open 11–4 every weekend in October as well as 30-31st October. It is free to enter and no pre-booking is required.

Sandy Bottom Farm Pumpkins

Sandy Bottom Farm has it all – pumpkin house, 1.5-acre maize maze, craft tent and pumpkin painting, Lion Learners interactive animals, pick your own sunflowers, pick your own corn on the cob, creepy crawly bug house, and a variety of food vendors!

With over 32 varieties this year, there’s a pumpkin for everyone from the traditional to blue, pink, and white pumpkins!

You do pay for this pumpkin patch, but it’s only £2 per ticket with under 3’s entering for free. The first 100 tickets sold are golden tickets which allow you to visit as many times as you want this season! Sandy Botton Farm is open 9-5 every weekend throughout October as well as 30/31 October.

Scalby Grange Pumpkin Picking

Scalby Grange have finally revealed their pumpkin plans! Free entry, free parking, no booking required, pumpkins charged by weight (50p-£15), food and drink available, photo opportunities, toilet facilities, hay bales for sale, weekend face painting and petting zoo, and twilight picking (Thursdays and Fridays) they’ve really gone all out this year to make the best free event possible.

If that’s not enough, there’s even the chance to find the golden pumpkin daily!

Stockeld Park Halloween Adventures and Pumpkin Picking

Although it’s definitely further to travel, Stockeld Park is so much more than an hour or two of pumpkin picking. There are woodland witches in the enchanted forest, a mummy maze, a family-friendly Halloween street show, and a zombie-themed laser experience. Not to mention a fancy dress competition! Of course, you also get access to the usual Stockeld Park fun (huge indoor and outdoor play zones).

Open for Halloween adventures from 21-22nd October and daily from 28th October – 5th November. Prices are to be released on 2nd September and I will update here accordingly. There is a free pumpkin from the patch for every fee-paying child.

William’s Den Halloween Event

William’s Spooky Adventures are set to be a real highlight of the Halloween season. Boasting East Yorkshire’s only immersive trick-or-treat street, this is the perfect place to go if the kids are wanting to go out hunting for sweets, but you’re having trouble working out which houses it’s polite to visit. With a Halloween disco and scarecrow golf to boot, there’ll be no time for boredom at William’s Den this spooky season!

Running daily from 28-31 October the event costs £13.95 for adults, £16.95 for children, and £9.95 for carers. Babies are free but subject to a 75p booking fee. This includes a full day at the den and Halloween activities (apple workshop and pumpkin picking charged extra).
