101 in 1001 update 3
I’m a little behind the deadline with posting this update, but hey-ho! Life gets in the way sometimes.
We’re already over 300 days into the challenge and that feels insane! That’s almost a full year, and I feel like so much has happened in my life since then. In all honesty, I’ve lost momentum with blogging due to having a lot of other things going on, and I feel like some of my priorities have changed since making the list already. But that’s okay. I’m sure things will change again in the 701 days I have left. It’s just made me reflect more on what my goals really are, and what I would or wouldn’t include in my next 101 in 1001 challenge.
So, what’s new with us? We survived the summer holidays (just!) and I went back to work with a new team to get used to. Bertie turned 5 and started school in September and he loves it, though it’s been a big adjustment for him from part-time nursery to full-time school! We bought a house and moved in – more about that later. Between us there’s also been a lot of health stuff going on too, including me being diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia which is a severe pain condition. Luckily my new medication seems to be helping and I’m just about through the initial side effects and feeling more like myself again.
So, let’s see how those goals are getting on…
Completed goals

1. Move house
We did it! We got the keys at the end of September and moved early October. Moving has been harder than I ever imagined, but I’m so glad it’s happened. I love our new house so much but we have a long way to go in terms of making it feel like us.
15. Close all rings on Apple Watch for an entire month
Absolutely smashed this! I closed all my rings in July and August and continue to hit 80-90% each month. 12 hours standing, 500kcal burned, 20 minutes exercise.
37. Day trip with another family
We did this a couple of times through the summer holidays which was lovely, with trips to Williams den and the farm. It’s something I’d like to do more regularly as it’s so nice to see the kids playing together.
39. Date day without the kids
In the summer holidays, we deliberately put both kids into nursery so we could have a date day. We managed a cinema trip complete with hotdogs and ice cream, but also spent a lot of time carpet shopping for our new house!
Progress with goals
6. Donate or sell 101 things
Moving house meant we donated A LOT of stuff. I wish I’d kept better track. We have a decent pile of things to sell, so once this pile is dealt with I’m going to class this goal as completed.
8. Sort the desk and actually work from it
We’re now fortunate enough to have a “library/office” room and the desk is cleared and organised in there, all ready for working from home. Unfortunately, we don’t yet have internet which means we can’t actually work from home yet. That’s getting sorted next week, so I’ll definitely be adding this to the completed list next update!
52. Go to the theatre 5 times
My mum treat me, her, and Bertie to an afternoon watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which was simply wonderful. Bertie was surprised it was different to the film, but said he still enjoyed it. Having seen it in the West End (many years ago!) I would say the travelling version is almost as good!

Conclusion
13 goals complete, 13 goals in progress. It’s maybe not where I should be at this stage, but we’ve achieved some of the really big goals this time! Life seems to have changed considerably in the last 100 days and my next update won’t be until 2025 so I’m excited to see what direction that takes me in!
