Finding Joy in the mundane

There’s thousands of moments of joy in parenthood – all the firsts, hearing your child say “I love you”, cuddles, kisses, even watching their joy brings a huge smile to my face.

But we often get so wrapped up in parenthood and day to day life and keeping a tidy house and work and everything else that we forget take a moment and find joy.

So I’m going to make a conscious effort this week, to find joy in the mundane. Changing a baby nappies may not sound joyful, but these are the last pre weaning poos I’ll ever change. Being woken up by a 3 year old shouting “it’s morning play with me” in my face may not sound joyful, but one day he won’t want me to play anymore.

This week, I’m going to find joy in all of life’s mundane moments. I’m going to slow down and take time to revel in the joy and be grateful that I get to live a mundane life.
